Essex ActivAte is the new holiday activity and food programme run by Active Essex in partnership with Essex County Council and funded by the Department for Education. Working with a network of holiday club delivery partners the programme provides FREE face to face clubs for young people who are eligible for benefits based free school meals, as well as young people from working families who would benefit from this extra support. Clubs will include fun activities, including sports and arts & crafts, for at least 4 hours per day over 8 days of the Easter holidays*. Plus every child will get a tasty, nutritious lunch!
As part of the Easter holidays we will also be working with a range of expert partners in order to deliver SEND Activity Hubs, delivering specialist workshops. These will provide coaching and inclusive physical and enrichment activities for SEND pupils, to ensure they get the best out of their Easter Holidays.
We are pleased to also be delivering a number of Mental Wellbeing Hubs which will deliver supported activities over shorter sessions, in smaller groups. Activities will be sensitive to the children’s needs, focusing on gentle social transition and coping exercises to help with the move back to community engagement.
*Please note SEND and Mental Wellbeing hubs may be shorter.
