Active Essex are delighted to be back to host our annual Awards ceremony to recognise and celebrate the extent of achievements throughout our county. In 2021, we had to make a difficult last minute decision to host a virtual Awards due to the pandemic, but we are excited to host a face-to-face ceremony this year back at Chelmsford City Racecourse, with new categories in line with the new physical activity and sport strategy for Essex, Southend and Thurrock.

Back in September, we received over 500 nominations for the 11 categories, followed by 3000 votes for our public voting categories.

The awards ceremony, to crown our winners, then took place at Chelmsford City Racecourse on Tuesday 6th December. Hosted by Dr Zoe Williams, GP and TV Presenter, and Danny Crates, Paralympic Gold Medallist, the Essex Activity Awards recognised and celebrated achievements throughout our county, with support from Headline Sponsor, Writtle University College.
