“My name is Sarah Bockhart and I am a This Girl Can Ambassador and I am also a pre-natal mum.

The prenatal advice that I would give to other mums is even when you don’t want to, exercising gently might help the sickness or at least distract you. Exercise pre and postnatally is important to prepare for birth and rehabilitate afterwards. Knowing how to exercise safely during this stage of my life has been very reassuring and helps adapt to the changing body and the demands being put on it.

In the app I work for there is a pre and postnatal section with lots of resources. In the prenatal section there are workouts for trimester 1, 2, 3 and some SPD (pelvic girdle pain) friendly workouts. Also, an experts and tools that range from ante natal classes with an NHS midwife and GP, to pelvic floorwork and meditation for preparation and labour.

The workouts available range from weights and body weight, pilates and yoga to old school aerobics Both pre and postnatal sections come with tonnes of articles written for by a GP, myself on nutrition/exercise and midwife with lots of awkward subjects covered. We want to empower women to ask questions at their first GP check and not suffer in silence as well as recognising postnatal depression.”
