Running

My name is Sam and I’ve just become an all together ambassador.

I’m an England athletics run leader and a walking for health walk leader plus a YMCA fitness instructor too. I suffer from mental health issues and I find going out for a walk or run can really help to improve my mood and clear my brain. Physical activity really does help with anxiety and stress.

I have started up my own running and walking group called The Run Fit Club which is based in Northlands Park Pitsea.

All sessions are free and is open to everyone and anyone of all walks of life. We are not competitive and you don’t have to smash PB’S to fit in with us, you coming along and getting active and social is more important than anything.

We cater for 12 years and up and are buggy friendly, Dog friendly plus in the walking group wheelchair friendly too. Plus we all have experience with mental health and have done courses so we can support one another.

I’m also taking part in the London marathon this year after getting a ballot place, this will also be my first marathon too. Nervous but looking forward to it.

I wasn’t very confident and had low self esteem before. Now I feel that I can do anything and I don’t care what people think. I do my own pace and I smash my goals!
