The 8th March is International Women’s Day, a day celebrating being a woman and embracing the woman you want to be. This years theme is about how an equal world is an enabling world and doing what you need to do to make yourself happy.

We want to celebrate women in Essex and their achievements. Active Essex are doing this through our Women Like Us festivals and our This Girl Can Essex ambassadors. Our festivals are all about getting as many women together to shout, dance, move and find something that gets them inspired to participate in regular physical activity.

Our This Girl Can Essex ambassadors continue to inspire us, so we asked them to share their stories with you about what or who inspires them and the importance of taking a little time out of their day to do something for themselves.

Below you will see 8 ambassador stories. Please take time to read them, we think you will be inspired!
