Roy Chittock is living with a mild learning disability, high blood cholesterol and has previously suffered with depression. Participating in Multi-Sports and Sport for Confidence sessions has kept him occupied and allowed him to meet new people. A friend recommended him to get involved with his local Southend Music Man, playing instruments, singing and having fun!
Rory said: “Getting involved in physical activity has benefited me in making new friends, helped my mental health and showed me how to cope with my back pain. It has given me a better quality of life where I now have a more positive outlook, looking forward to the future.”
Participating in physical activity not only benefits the body physically, but mentally also. Sport England said: “Physical activity contributes to enjoyment and happiness, and more broadly to life satisfaction and social interaction.”
