Essex Coach Core Apprentices win Community Outreach Project of the Year!

Active Essex

Our Essex Coach Core apprentices have just won Community Outreach Project of the Year at the national Coach Core Awards for their involvement in the Holiday Hunger projects.

Active Essex gave our 14 Coach Core apprentices the opportunity to develop and deliver 5 Holiday Hunger programmes that took place over the summer across Essex.  Social action was a key priority of our Department for Education, Volunteer, Leaders and Coaching funding award.  This funding provided a new opportunity for the apprentices to develop the skills they had learnt over the length of their Coach Core journey allowing them to engage with and support their local communities.

Louise Voyce said: “We are thrilled that the apprentice’s programmes excelled over the summer and have now been recognised for their hard work by achieving the Community Outreach Project of the Year award. All of the apprentices worked together, learnt from one another and had the opportunity to be involved in the whole process from insight, outreach and project development to funding applications, promotion, delivery and evaluation.”

The apprentice’s engagement has enabled new projects to be developed and delivered along with added value and capacity at existing sites in our localities. Congratulations to all Coach Core apprentices!
