Angela Hutchings is Chief Executive at Castle Point Borough Council, working in local government for the past 25 years. She began her career in legal services, but since 2012 took senior management positions across local governments. She is also currently serving as the Vice Chair of the Southeast Essex Alliance.

Bringing extensive knowledge and experience of local government and health services to the Board, will help us to navigate potential political and health related changes on the horizon, in a proactive and positive way to secure success for the future.

On her appointment, Angela said: “I am really looking forward to picking up the Active Essex baton again. I have previously been a Trustee of the Active Essex Foundation and believe in the power of physical activity and sport in tackling some of the most challenging societal issues we face in Greater Essex.

“For me personally, I know that being outdoors and exploring the countryside are massive factors that contribute to my own positive mental wellbeing. And if there is a pub, gift shop or scone at the end of my amble, even better!”
