Lee Bailey will bring extensive experience among the education sector, helping support Active Essex in their children and young people work. He currently leads the Partnership Delivery as part of the Children and Families team within Essex County Council. Pivotal in leading and developing local partnership networks among services for children and young people in North Essex, Lee understands the necessary routes to increase participation in physical activity among the younger generations.

On his appointment to the Board, he said: “I hope that through my time with Active Essex, we will be able to build upon the offer of physical activity opportunities for young people. For me, sport and physical activity not only supports better physical and mental health, but the friendships that can form, and enjoyment had, can last a lifetime.”
