Athletics

Hi my name is Anne; I took up wheelchair racing after the birth of my son. I became the first wheelchair racer from East Africa to compete in a Paralympic Games and when I became a British citizen I joined Team GB. I won medals internationally, as well as winning several half marathons.

A few years ago I was part of a group who set up All Ability Sport and Leisure group in Harlow which is an organisation which aims is to increase awareness and inspire people with a disability to take up healthy and active lifestyles.

My biggest personal achievement in relation to sport is being appointed to the board of UK Athletics.
I am passionate about sport and I know the benefits that can be gained from participating in it. I would like to encourage and support as many people with a disability as possible to get the right opportunities to participate in sport.
