This July, we’re thrilled to shine a spotlight on and award our #MoveWithUs ‘Move Maker’ award to someone whose passion and dedication has truly transformed inclusive sport in Greater Essex. Charlie Latimer is the inspiring individual behind our annual Invincible Games and the driving force behind the newly formed Latimer League.
Charlie’s journey began with a simple but powerful idea, to create a space where children of all abilities could experience the joy of sport and physical activity. Ten years on, the Invincible Games stands as a testament to that vision, celebrating a decade of inclusive physical activity. This year’s milestone event welcomed over 350 children, offering them opportunities to participate in sports that may have otherwise been out of reach.
Charlie’s dedication to inclusivity in sport has not only provided opportunities for hundreds of children, but has also showcased what meaningful impact looks like. Her leadership in developing the Invincible Games has created a lasting legacy and one that continues to open doors for children with additional needs to experience the empowerment of physical activity. She is a truly deserving winner of the Move Maker Award, and her work continues to inspire us all.

With it being the 10th year of the games, we invited Charlie back to give a speech during the celebrations opening ceremony. Her words were heartfelt, motivational and deeply inspiring, reminding everyone in attendance the importance of inclusion and providing opportunities like this. Charlie’s impact doesn’t stop there though…
Thanks to her unwavering commitment, the SEND School Football League was born, giving SEND pupils across Essex the chance to compete in football tournaments throughout the year. Now officially named the Latimer League by the Essex FA, this initiative is a lasting legacy of Charlie’s work and one that continues to open doors and spark change and influence the system not just in Essex but across the UK.
Charlie’s efforts and commitment to equality have empowered hundreds of children, inspired countless others, and redefined what inclusive physical activity can look like.
