Share Connect Collaborate is a bold and energising learning festival, designed for system leaders and officers across Essex and beyond.

This is not going to be your typical ‘conference’, it’s a space to explore, connect and reimagine how we create the conditions for communities to thrive.

Through the lens of physical activity we will dive into the assets that make up our communities, explore the ripple effects of system change and hear from voices across the county. You will get to listen to talks from national leaders, dive in to decision making with the help of primary school children, get the inside scoops in podcast style chat shows and get to grips with some of the most challenging areas of our work right now.

Expect to feel inspired, challenged and reconnected with your purpose. Together, we will embrace curiosity, vulnerability and the power of learning to unlock lasting impact.

Taking place on Wednesday 21st January 2026 at Hylands House, Chelmsford. 9.30-4pm.

Meet our headliners title

A key part of every good festival is having great headliners, and we think we’ve nailed it! Introducing our headliners for the 2026 Share Connect Collaborate learning festival:

Simon Hayes, Chief Executive of Sport England

Just 4 months into his tenure as Chief Executive of Sport England, Simon Hayes will bring fresh energy and insight into Share Connect Collaborate. As one of our headliners, Simon will delve into the transformative power of movement in shaping policy and systems. He will reflect on his leadership journey, the impact of his early experiences in the role and the lessons he’s already taken. Expect a talk that offers a unique glimpse into the future of the sport and physical activity sector, and Simon’s bold aspirations for driving change and creating a more active nation.

Anna Randle

As a leading voice in collaborative public services and organisational transformation, Anna Randle joins us to share her expertise in strategy, leadership and system change. Known for guiding organisations through complexity and uncertainty, Anna will offer a vision for how sport and physical activity can be harnessed to reimagine community wellbeing – especially in the face of the challenges currently shaping the Essex landscape. Her session promises to be both enlightening and inspiring, sparking new ideas for how we can work together to build resilient, thriving communities.
