Barclays Girls' Football School Partnership

‘Barclays Girls' Football School Partnership,’ goal is to build a sustainable infrastructure of schools committed to developing the girls’ game. Our Vision: Every girl has equal access to football in school by 2024.

The Barclays Girls’ Football School Partnership is aiming to build a sustainable infrastructure of schools committed to developing the girls’ game.

The focus is to help girls become more physically active with improved well-being, increased physical literacy of five to eight year-olds and grow all girls confidence and competence to play football at school and in a community setting.

We aim to develop innovative ways to deliver girls football through improving their first participation experience, and creating an active and confident generation of inspired female footballers, coaches, officials, and leaders.

We have programmes for both primary and secondary schools:

If you are a school that wants equal rights for girls to access football, then we have the perfect programmes for you!
For primary schools we have a Disney Inspired Shooting Stars and for secondary schools we have Barclays Game On

Disney Inspired Shooting Stars (Primary Schools)

The FA Shooting Stars programme inspired by Disney is made up of two initiatives: Active Play Through Story Telling and Girls’ Football Clubs. These initiatives have been developed to engage 5-11 year old girls in sport both at school and home

Barclays Game On (Secondary Schools)

This programme supports secondary school teachers in exploring how to engage girls in curriculum PE through an innovative life skills approach.

The relationship with Barclays has enabled us to use the array of cross-curricular resources on offer through Barclays LifeSkills programme, supporting schools to not only deliver through curriculum PE, but develop the transferable skills of their young people in English, PSHE and in preparation for the world of work.
