Through the Move With Us Leaders Academy, you can find further support and opportunities below, which will allow you to gain experience, build confidence and develop key skills for life and future careers. This includes training opportunities, how to become an ambassador, career support, volunteer opportunities and CV writing support.

Training Opportunities

We are excited to share some training courses, which are open to young people aged 14+ as part of the Move With Us Leaders Academy programme. The courses look to give young people the knowledge, skills and confidence through extra-curricular sessions in educational settings, such as schools, further and higher education, and community programmes.  

 

Move With Us Leaders Academy - Level 1 Activator Course

The 1st4sport Level 1 Award for Activators (Multi-Skills) helps young people (14+) build leadership skills, boost confidence, and lead fun activities in schools and communities. You’ll learn how to organise games, adapt activities, and encourage others to stay active—all while developing as a young leader!

Time: 10:30am – 5:30pm (lunch included)

This free online course is for 16 years + to help develop and understand children ages 4-6 first steps into football.

EE Playmaker by England Football

This free online entry-level football course perfect for anyone interested in taking a more active role in grassroots football.

Are you looking for extra volunteer work? Become part of the Move with Us Ambassador programme!

As part of the Move With Us campaign, we believe it’s super important to make sure everything is led by young people from across Essex – that way we know it is inspiring, encouraging and motivating the right audiences to get involved in physical activity and find something that they love. And our ambassadors are doing just that – they’re helping us design and grow the campaign, increasing young people’s positive attitudes towards physical activity and sport.

Highlight the Move With Us leaders Academy on your CV

Here are some top tips in highlighting the Move With Us Leaders Academy on your CV:

  • Be a Leader: Have you ever helped organise a club or been a team captain? If so, you’re already a leader! Put this on your CV to show you’re great at teamwork and making decisions. 
  • Help Out in Your Community: Joining a programme like Move with Us Leaders Academy or helping at your school or local events, shows that you care about others. You can write this under “Volunteering” to impress future employers. Don’t forgot to add number of hours or weeks you have volunteered for.  
  • Show Off Your Super Skills: Are you good at talking to people, solving problems, or working in a team? These are all amazing skills that employers love to see!
  • Add Certificates & Training: If you’ve completed a course or training, include it on your CV! It shows that you’ve worked hard and learnt new things.  
  • Add Achievements: As part of the Move with Us Leaders Academy, add levels of recognition from our Introductory, Development and Advanced levels. Include achievements such as certificates, badges, reference letter, and formal recognition letter endorsed by the Essex County Council Year Of Opportunities.

Coach Core apprenticeship programme

Coach Core works with 16-24 year olds who are not in education or employment, to deliver an inclusive and impactful sports coaching apprenticeship that develops the talents of young people and provides them with a range of vital skills for sport, work and life. Find out more here.

First Aid support and guidance

First aid is a simple skill, but it has an incredible impact. St John’s Ambulances’ online first aid advice gives you information of common conditions and explains how you can treat them using first aid, including basic life support methods for CPR, defibrillation, the recovery position, and more.
