As part of our #MoveWithUs campaign, this year we will be awarding a Move Maker every month! They will be given to young people or individuals/organisations who are playing a vital role in helping to support children and young people to feel more positive towards physical activity, thus becoming more active.
Our Move Maker for January has been awarded to #MoveWithUs ambassador Macey, who wants to inspire and support other girls to find the activity that they love!
Upon receiving the award, Macey said:
“I’m so pleased to have received this award and am proud to be involved with the #MoveWithUs campaign, as I feel it’s important for children of all ages to get moving, whether that be competitively or just for fun. For me, being active and getting moving really helps distract from a hectic day at school and has meant I have made lots of new friends. If I can support others to experience this too, then that would be great!
I really want to show that girls are capable of playing sports that are predominantly male orientated, and to stamp out any gender differences. Anyone and everyone should be able to get involved in whatever activity or sport they want, and not have to worry about being judged.
As part of my role as a #MoveWithUs ambassador, I hope to encourage others to be more active, have fun and see where it can take you. I hope by sharing my journey into activity, it helps inspire others not to be afraid to try something new!”
